Type I: From just distal to the left subclavian artery (thoracic) to the upper abdominal aorta, usually ending above the renal arteries

Type II: From distal left subclavian artery to below the renal arteries (involves most of the thoracoabdominal aorta)

Type III: From mid-thoracic aorta to the aortic bifurcation

Type IV: Abdominal aorta only (from diaphragm to aortic bifurcation, below the renal arteries)
